Birth To Five Years

Birth to Five matters was introduced in 2002 to provide guidance for practitioners working with under three's. It is split into 4 aspects: Healthy Child, Skilful Communicator, Competent Learner and Strong Child. We monitor each child's progress using various methods; these include observations, photographs and structured activities. These activities, which include imaginative & messy play, allow us to create individual developement plans.

The children have access to a purpose built outdoor play area. Three times a year the information collected is used to complete an observation profile which details aspects of each child's progress which is shared with parents and carers. This information is also a requirement by Ofsted and we may be asked to provide these reports during our inspection. To ensure that the Birth to Five is always accurate the staff attend regular training courses provided by Salford and Trafford Early Years.
